Cold-Pressed Extraction Method

Not all plants give their oil well when we use the same extraction method. Sometimes, too much steam or too much heat can damage the oil. When this happens, many good nutrients inside the oil disappear, and the whole purpose of extracting the oil is lost.

The cold-press, or expression method, is used for some special fruits, mainly citrus fruits and fruits that have oily seeds, like avocados. In this method, we use very little heat. Instead, we use a strong machine with a screw-like part. This part pushes and squeezes the fruit or seed very hard. Because of this pressure, the oil comes out naturally.

The flow chart below shows these steps in an easy way.

The cold-press method keeps the oil safe and full of nutrients because it does not use high heat. The oil stays pure, healthy, and close to how it is inside the fruit. This is why people like using cold-pressed oils for cooking, skincare, and many other uses.
